Valerie McPhaul, a true Detroiter at heart, has a deep-rooted passion for the quality of life in her city. Her journey has taken her through various parts of the metropolitan area, from Southfield to West Bloomfield, and finally to the University District in Detroit, where she served on the association board for six years. Currently, she resides in the Barton McFarland district and holds the position of President of the Ohio Joy Tireman Block Club.

Valerie's passion for quality of life is evident in her LWYL Keep Detroit Beautiful campaign. The campaign was born out of her frustration with litter and blight in urban neighborhoods.
